Im trying to get this bitch into monitor mode lol

Code:
macd3v@macd3v-laptop:~$ iwconfig eth1 mode monitor

Does anyone have a solution for this or am i one of those unlucky bastards with a card that is just simply not compatible. I've seen that there are work arounds for most of them and it says that there is for this one but i dunno if i did it wrong or if i read the wrong info or what but this is breaking my balls

Re: Card Help

1. Do you have the proper drivers? (Either linux ones or ndiswrapped windows)
2. Make sure you are root (use su or something)
3. googlegooglegoogle :)

I'm no linux pro, but I hope I helped :)

Re: Card Help

If you can't find the right drivers for your broadcom wifu card then you
need to use the ndiswrapper to install the windows drivers macd3v :-)

Re: Card Help

Hey macd3v, I just re-read your thread and I have exactly the same problem! xD

My card doesn't support monitor mode either so I had to use an external WiFu adapter I think x)

Re: Card Help

lspci -vnn | grep 14e4
what pci id does it give you?

certain pci id's work and others don't

if i remember right 14e4:4312 works but 4315 doesn't

you can look into ndiswrapper and wl and see if they added support for them yet.

its been a while since I checked it out but I also assume broadcom's drivers are still close and they didn't release them

Re: Card Help

Broadcom's drivers are non-open source, they're way behind some of the other manufacturers :-)

At least that's how it was and might still be.
